Commercial Green Building Services?
For more than 25 years, the Southface
team of building scientists, engineers, green building
experts, and LEED™-accredited professionals has
provided objective, practical consultations to building
owners, developers, and design teams in our region.
While one project might require
a goal-setting workshop, another might require a range
of services, including educational sessions, request
for proposal (RFP) assistance, LEED consultation,
specialized research and ongoing project oversight. We
are structured to work in the manner most appropriate
to your project needs.
Qualifications
Southface maintains the region's primary clearinghouse for green building know-how. Our team’s credentials include masters degrees in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Commercial Construction, Strategic Leadership Toward Sustainability (based on The Natural Step), and degrees in Management, Environmental Science and Policy, as well as LEED Accreditation and Permaculture Certification.

Our staff's expertise can be supplemented by a professional
network of local, national and international technical
experts to provide specialized services as needed.
Fees & Eligibility
Our services are available to
projects for a fee. Depending on project needs, fees
can be structured on a "not-to-exceed" basis
for a defined scope of work, as an hourly rate or as
a retainer. Because Southface is mission-driven, we prioritize
projects and allocate services
according to several criteria:

a minimum commitment by the project team to a LEED Certified
or similar performance level building; |
| • |
secure project funding; |
| • |
a preference for design work that is still within
the schematic design stage; |
| • |
potential of project to serve as a regional model
of green building practices. |
