The Argon Award of Excellence in Sustainability

On behalf of Southface’s esteemed Board of Directors, staff, and alumni, it is our pleasure to present this year’s Argon Award of Excellence to Dr. Marilyn Brown, Regents’ Professor and Brook Byers Professor of Sustainable Systems at Georgia Tech. She is a leader with eminent expertise in policies to accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy future, including smart appliances, meters, and dynamic pricing, solar power and nuclear energy, and grid-integrated electric vehicles.

Our Vision

At Southface, we believe in building sustainability for life. Our vision is one of a healthy environment for us all, achieved and sustained by innovation and equity in the communities we build together.

The Bold Goal

Southface’s programming addresses the largest contributor of global carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions: buildings. That is why, by 2030, Southface programming will eliminate 100,000 metric tons of CO2e emissions through work initiated annually.

Argon Award

Named for argon, which is the non-toxic, non-reactive, clear, and odorless gas that fills the space between the glass panes in high-performance windows, the Argon Award is presented annually in recognition of excellence in advancing sustainability for all.

Our Collective Impact

Funds raised through Visionary Awards support our work to build more robust, safer, and more livable neighborhoods.
