Discussion
Many building operators develop recycling and waste management strategies while unaware of the important, complementary role that green purchasing plays. A green purchasing strategy can be integral for achieving high levels of waste diversion by ensuring most materials that come through the building match the recycling collection and waste diversion processes. Additionally, recycling becomes more viable and cost effective when there is a robust market for products derived from recycled content.
Please join us for the next BIT Building Community call on Friday, September 24th, from 2 – 3PM EST where we share some best practices for creating and implementing green purchasing strategies. Paul Shahriari, Chief Innovation Officer/Co-founder of Ecomedes, will show us how the Ecomedes platform makes it easy for building operators to specify and buy environmentally-preferable products while measuring their impact and return on investment.
