Dennis Creech was recently honored by the Rotary Club of Atlanta with the 2016 Armin Maier Community Service Award. The award has been given since 1942 to a Rotarian who has performed outstanding community service. Previous recipients of this award include Ivan Allen III, Franklin M. Garrett, R. Charles Loudermilk, Sr., Horace H. Sibley, Bill Bolling, R. Howard Dobbs Jr. and George W. Woodruff.
Founded in 1913, Atlanta Rotary has been frequently honored by Rotary International as one of its truly outstanding affiliates. In fact, its members refer to it, with some justification, as “the world’s greatest Rotary Club.” It has been a long tradition that a member of the Club must be a key leader in his or her field, a person of integrity whose sense of values includes an obligation of community service.
