Two of our staff members have recently been elected to Boards of Directors within the industry. Congratulations to Sydney G. Roberts, Ph.D, Senior Research Engineer, for her recent election to the Home Performance Coalition’s (HPC) Board of Directors, and Brad Turner, Director of Education and Technical Assistance, for his recent election to Georgia Building Performance Association’s (GABPA) Board of Directors.
The HPC was founded in 2010 as a merger between Affordable Comfort, Inc. (ACI) and the National Home Performance Council. This restructured entity stands for transformation in the home performance industry through research, education, collaboration and advocacy. The organization provides educational opportunities for industry professionals, organizes national conferences and trade shows and conducts policy analysis, among other industry-strengthening projects which can be found at www.homeperformance.org.
“The Home Performance Coalition, formerly ACI, has played a key role in my professional growth, and that of countless Southface teammates, as a venue for the highest level of education and networking at national conferences and on committees,” Roberts says. “With the creation of the Coalition, I am excited to serve on the Board in continuing to build and execute a comprehensive strategy to transform the market for home performance.”
The GABPA, founded in June 2015, is a new organization pursuing a marketplace where Georgia’s more than 549 home and building performance companies and 10,802 professionals feel supported and represented. Their mission includes promoting the benefits of their work, giving members access to resources to improve their business forecast, providing career support to professionals in the home building industry and more that can be found in their brochure on their website, www.buildingga.org.
“As the Georgia Building Performance Association embarks on its second year, I welcome the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors to support the continued growth and success of the building and home performance industries in Georgia,” Turner says. “We are committed to creating business opportunities for the many stakeholders who strive to create more energy efficient, healthy, comfortable and durable homes in our state and beyond.”
