In early June, HomeAid Atlanta, a nonprofit organization that builds and renovates housing facilities for organizations serving homeless families and individuals in the metro Atlanta area, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Phoenix Pass transitional housing development in the Conyers/Rockdale area. The completion of this apartment complex will be critical in supporting Phoenix Pass, which provides transitional housing for women and children experiencing homelessness.
John Cooper of Cooper Homes, with assistance from D.R. Horton, led the construction process. The project will double the capacity of Phoenix Pass to serve single mothers and children in getting back on their feet after tough times.
Where does EarthCraft come in? Certifying these homes under the EarthCraft program ensures durability and efficiency for the long-term life of the development, and comfort and a healthy interior environment for all the residents who will stay in the homes moving forward.
