Georgia Building Performance Association Forms Board of Directors

Green Building

Atlanta, GA (August 12, 2015) – The Georgia Building Performance Association (GABPA) today announced the formation of its Board of Directors.  As the association’s first board members, the ten volunteers are tasked with developing the association’s strategy for serving member companies and promoting the industry.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to help form the association’s vision and services to serve our industry,” said new Board Chairman Charles Roy of Savannah, whose firm offers design, diagnostics and analysis services for homes and buildings across the state.  “Energy efficiency is the largest segment of Georgia’s clean energy economy and will continue to grow in part from what GABPA will soon offer contractors and consumers,” said Roy.

The Board of Directors includes ten volunteers from across the state representing several industry trades.  The members are:

“Consumer education is a top priority,” said Roy.  “Utility programs and contractors have worked hard to offer rebates, incentives and attractive services for residential and commercial building owners, but there’s plenty of room to grow.”

The association plans to bring together industry contractors, product suppliers and service providers to create a sustainable business climate and experienced workforce; two issues of great importance to the association’s founding members.

“At the end of the day, the services home and building performance contractors offer lower energy usage, improve indoor air quality and increase home and building values,” said Roy.  “GABPA’s task is to promote these benefits and offer consumers the resources they need to take advantage of them.”
