ENERGY STAR Certified Homes v3.1 Training
Join Southface Institute for a live, instructor-led online training to maintain or expand your ENERGY STAR service offerings and expertise. Over the course of three four-hour sessions, you’ll learn how to identify and quantify building components and systems for ENERGY STAR certification and prepare for the EPA exam.

Program Details
Learn
The EPA now requires ALL raters working on an ENERGY STAR home project—not just one per company—to successfully complete ENERGY STAR training and pass their exam. This training prepares students to complete the EPA ENERGY STAR exam to receive their certification. The training will review all program requirements before diving into design review and field checklists.
Earn
Certifications: Students will receive the Energy Star v3.1 Certification after completing the training and passing the EPA exam (included in course tuition).
CEUs: 18 RESNET Professional Development Credits
Schedule
This course will take place over three days. Each training day will start at 9:00am ET and end at 1:00pm ET. All training days will take place live online via Zoom. Students will complete the EPA exam after the third training day at 2:00pm ET.
Course Requirements
Although there are no requirements or prerequisites to take this course, it is important to note that ENERGY STAR Certified professionals must also be certified HERS Raters to conduct ENERGY STAR ratings on homes. We recommend that interested students look into all program requirements here.
