DET verifiers are certified to conduct leakage tests in new homes as part of the IECC testing requirements for air-tightness of the envelope and ductwork. DET Verifiers understand basic building science concepts and math skills related to air leakage, duct leakage and ventilation in homes.
Certified DET Verifiers are required under the building energy codes in Georgia and Alabama, and the certification is recognized under testing requirements for Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Plus, this course prepares participants for the BPI Infiltration and Duct Leakage (IDL) certification field exam, so it can help open multiple doors to new professional opportunities.
