Reducing our energy consumption can benefit both ratepayers and utility companies that need to reliably meet customer demand for energy. Though the Florida legislature passed the Florida Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act (FEECA) in 1980 to help utilities set conservation and energy efficiency goals, the rules in place have not changed in nearly three decades. Florida is lagging in efficiency investments and savings as a result, and it’s high time for an update!
Join Southface Sarasota virtually on June 28 from noon to 1:30 pm to learn more about energy efficiency, what efficiency looks like in Florida, what FEECA is, and how residents can get involved in shaping utilities’ goals. The workshop will feature guest panelists with extensive policy experience, a Q&A session, and insights on how to advocate for and benefit from energy efficiency. Come prepared and read our recent blog all about FEECA.
