We’re thrilled that the Senate has passed the historic cost-saving legislation, the Inflation Reduction Act. It will make overdue investments in clean energy and build a more affordable, healthy, just, and equitable future in Georgia. Next week President Biden is expected to sign this bill into law and we know that NONE of this would have been possible without Georgia voters turning up in November in 2020 to elect pro-environmental candidates. 

This bill is by no means a perfect solution, but it gives us hope for the future, our future. Georgia climate activists have been showing up for climate justice for years and we’ve finally secured the largest environmental package in history. It’s time to take a break from our hard work and celebrate! We deserve to come together and experience this victory with each other …so let’s throw ourselves a party! Together we’ll dance, enjoy some great food, and celebrate all that we’ve accomplished as a movement while looking ahead for what’s to come.
