If you’re a contractor that took the RRP Initial course, then you will need to come back before your 3-year anniversary to take the half-day RRP Refresher course. In other words, if you took the RRP initial class on Jan. 15, 2018, then you will need to take the Refresher class before Jan. 15, 2021 for your re-certification. IMPORTANT: If your certification lapses beyond your 3-year anniversary, you will need to take the 8-hour Initial Certification class once again.
This refresher training course was developed by the EPA in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to train renovation, repair and painting contractors how to work safely in housing with lead-based paint, and comply with the EPA's Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule and HUD's Lead-Safe Housing Rule. Below is a link where you can register for the refresher renovator model training course.
