When Southface was founded in 1978, energy efficiency wasn’t yet considered an environmental issue. Now, through the generosity of our annual supporters, Southface has grown to help eliminate nearly 50 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions from our environment through work initiated annually.
Your gift supports Southface’s bold goal: by 2030, eliminate 100 million metric tons of CO2e emissions through annual programming.
As we look forward, one thing is clear: our work today is just as important as it was 46 years ago. Since 1978, carbon emissions have increased by nearly 16% in the U.S., with buildings and construction responsible for 47% of carbon emissions globally.
