2017: TransFormation Alliance

The TransFormation Alliance (TFA), a collaboration of over 30 metro Atlanta organizations, creates thriving, mixed-income and mixed-use communities anchored by transit. Southface is selected to be the TFA Climate Champion in lead related initiatives of the Strong Prosperous and Resilient Communities Challenge in Atlanta. In this role, Southface engages and partners with more than 100 community members of Southwest Atlanta on sustainability and resilience initiatives.

Southface participated in Community Day at Oakland City West End Apartments, an affordable housing community, providing energy efficiency educational materials and LED bulbs.

All six sites and cities (Atlanta, Los Angeles, Bay Area, Chicago, Memphis and Denver) in the SPARCC cohort participate in a learning convening at Southface. This part of the convening features Soul Food Cypher, an Atlanta organization that utilizes the power of speech to transform the lives of individuals and their communities.

Through TFA/SPARCC and EEFA, Southface has partnered with property owner Chisom Housing on energy efficiency programs, site flooding/green infrastructure opportunities, and affordable housing advocacy.
