Since 1998, the Greenprints conference has brought together thought leaders in sustainability throughout the Southeast to discuss building performance, energy policy, community design and more. In that tradition, we are excited to announce that the 2016 Keynote Speaker will be Ryan Gravel, the mind behind the largest urban redevelopment project in the country.
Ryan Gravel, AICP, LEED AP, is the urban planner and designer whose master’s thesis in 1999 was the original vision for the Atlanta BeltLine, the 22-mile transit greenway changing both the physical form of the city and the decisions people make about living here. We are pleased to have Ryan deliver our 2016 Greenprints keynote to discuss his forthcoming book, Where We Want to Live, in which he investigates the cultural side of infrastructure, describing how its intimate relationship with our way of life can illuminate a brighter path forward for cities. Ryan’s presentation will frame a more life-affirming approach to infrastructure that considers everyone and every aspect of our lives to create valuable cultural, social and economic contributions to the broader community. Following the keynote we will have a facilitated discussion and book-signing.
